The Lantern Festival falls on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month,is one of the traditional Chinese festivals.The ancients called “night” as “xiao”, and the fifteenth day of the first month coincides with the night of the first full moon of the year, so the fifteenth day of the first month is named “Yuanxiao Festival”. According to Taoism “Sanyuan”, the fifteenth day of the first lunar month is also called “Shangyuan Festival”.
